With acute MI yes: Bifascicular block in an asymptomatic patient does not necessarily progress to complete heart block. This of course must be followed. In the setting of an acute Myocardial infarction the first appearance of a new Bifascicular block carries with it a high probability of becoming a complete heart block and pacemakers are frequently used.
