Urinary retension: Urinary retention is common and self resolving when related to surgery and general anesthesia. It may last several days and you may need a Foley catheter or several straight catheters to empty your bladder while waiting for resolution. Often your nurse can perform a bedside bladder scan to access the amount of fluid in your bladder. Okay to ask your docs why you have urinary retention.
