Butt/thigh pain: Certainly could be sciatic - the sciatic nerve runs from the mid buttock down into the leg see http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sciatica/basics/definition/con-20026478. It can come from sitting on hard chairs. In my experience anti inflammatory medication can be helpful - naprosyn or ibuprofen. Warm heating pad may also be helpful. Good luck
