A member asked:

If high cortisol can decrease serotonin levels then can low cortisol(like due to iatrogenic adrenal suppression) increase serotonin levels?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That: Is a tricky one because there is not enough evidence of low cortisol causing low levels of serotonin. Depression, chronic and severe, is associated with low serotonin and could lower cortisol levels.
