A member asked:

Can a cardiac dilatation be caused by adrenal insufficiency? because i have very very low basal cortisol levels.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: And low basal cortisol levels do not diagnose adrenal insufficiency. You need a cortrosyn stimulation test. We treat dilated cardiomyopathy with aldosterone (produced by your adrenal gland) antagonists.
