Well: You need to have a healthy lifestyle eat healthy food and exercise 1 hour daily. Now also watch those calories. 1000 cal per day. This is not much. But to be healthy your entire lifestyle must change.

Eat less & exercise: The key to losing weight is not a temporary diet but permanent changes. Sugars and simple carbs from grains esp. cause weight gain.
