Not pancreatitis: a normal or low amylase would make it unlikely that you have pancreatitis which is a cause of upper abdominal pain. It may be a stomach or duodenal ulcer causing your pain. Consider an anti-acid such as nexium (to be taken daily on an empty stomach), and follow up with your doctor.
