I have a high amylase level of 175, normal lipase, cmp, & cbc though. should i worry. i was once told that amylase is a worthless test by a er doctor?

can be from different sources - pancreas as well as salivary glands for example. what made you ER docs draw these bloodtests - abdominal pain, I assume? if the amylase level wasn't too high and your symptoms have resolved, I wouldn't worry about it. if there are continued sxs, would follow it up with your PCP.
