Compensation.: It's called c-o-m-p-e-n-s-a-t-i-o-n. The shift to the other foot, can and will cause a new generation of foot problems to the un-injured foot. It is probably best to re-evaluate your ambulation options while healing. Sometimes, the compensatory can be more of a nuisance than the original injury.
