A member asked:

Is it right to reward our children to make them eat vegetables and fruits? can this create a long term habit? are there any other strategies?

Rewards work: Kids are occasionally caught up in the I win or you win mentality.Avoiding new foods or things you want them to do allows them to win. Incentives break the pattern giving them a choice between winning the incentive or beating you. Win win opportunities get them to try new things. Once new wears off you can stop the incentives and reserve them for something else. It's why people work !!!!
