Tartrate v Succinate: The blood pressure medication, metoprolol, comes in two forms, tartrate & succinate, ie metoprolol tartrate (MT) & metoprolol succinate (MS). MT is dosed twice daily - think T for twice, while MS is single daily dose - think S for single. Hope that helps! Oh and besides controlling blood pressure, metoprolol, as a member of beta blocker family, keeps your heart from racing away b/c PVCs.
