Be cautious about it: The appearance is normal. The throbbing is also normal. However you should have an xray . If there is no fracture, then keeping it protected with a finger splint might be a good idea until the swelling goes away and the color begins to look more normal. These types of injuries can be subject to long term sensitivity particularly at the extremes of temperature.

Finger tip crush: You may have a fracture of the finger tip/tuft. X-rays would help. If there is blood collecting under the nail you may have a nailed injury that could lead to a nail deformity if the nailed injury is significant enough.
