What are normal alt liver enzyme levels? is alt 54 high? elevated levels due to pregnancy or having a cold maybe? (no drugs were taken for cold).

40 IU or less: We'd rather see them below 40, and most folks run 1-20. A few beers will kick them upwards; running a marathon is likely to put you into "danger zone" -- a lab value means nothing except in context. Let's repeat that alt in a few weeks off alcohol & meds -- or whatever your physician thinks best.
