So i heard someone say they were gonna take 3000 mg ibuprofen a day everyday and i'm interested in how things poison and i wanna know. how long can he do that? i'm getting him help now but i'm curious what will happen if he continued that.

Stomach & kidney: Ibuprofen is really meant for short term use for pain. The maximum dose is 800 mg three times a day. If a higher dose is taken, or even the regular dose for a long period of time it can cause stomach ulcers and kidney failure. Thanks for getting help for your friend. This is a dangerous practice. How long he an do that without permanent damage is hard to say, but please help him stop.
