I have a bone chip on my fifth mc bone. i have been in a velcro brace for 3 1/2 weeks but am still experiencing pain. should i go back to ortho?

Fifth metacrpal chip: MC fractures are common, after 3 1/2 weeks I would expect some healing to have taken place. you need to seek medical advise If the pain not relieved with simple over the counter pain killers or is getting worse, or if there is sores or cuts on the skin, swelling or unable to move fingers, fingers got blue or cold

YES: If symptomatic the chip should be removed....hope this is helpful! Dr Z
