Inflammation: Pain and redness in the front of your neck is consistent with an inflammatory process, and the thyroid gland is in that area. Acute thyroiditis may be the problem. Your symptoms warrant an examination promptly. Blood tests will include thyroid readings as well as cbc,etc in order to make a diagnosis.
