They're the same: The left shoulder pain is "referred pain" from the abdomen. The nerve supply to part of the shoulder originates from the same location as the nerve supply to some abdominal structures. Could be stomach, pancreas, gallbladder etc. (NOT kidneys.) Get it checked out. It may be something that's not serious now but could get serious later.
