Multiple causes: The possible causes of burning of left upper quadrant of abdomen are gastroesophageal reflux, esophagitis, peptic ulcer including stomach or duodenal ulcer, gastritis which is inflammation of lining of stomach including h.Pylori infection. Other possible cause could be pancreatitis but pain is not usually burning in nature.
