Swelling or edema: will cause the conjunctiva to look like jelly. Rinse your eye with room temperature artificial tears or tap water, and then apply a cold compress. Superficial scrathches usually heal in 24 hours, so if not remarkably better, it needs to be evaluated by your doctor or eye doctor.
