A member asked:

G6pd deficiency is a blood disorder, right?so if someone has it and they're symptomatic, why isn't it taken seriously? can't it be dangerous

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Being that you are a woman, your symptoms are highly unlikely to be due to G6pd deficiency, unless you happen to be homozygous for the deficiency. You may consult this site for more information. https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase-deficiency For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. Practice safe sex.
