Coated tongue: There are innumerable causes of white coated tongue, mostly not serious. HIV is among the causes, but it's a rare one. And coated tongue almost never is the main or only symptom of HIV; you would be quite ill. If you think you might be at risk for HIV, see a doctor for testing for HIV (and other STDs). But testing definitely isn't needed just because of coated tongue.

Need more info: These symptoms are associated with many things. You need more labs. If concerned with hiv you can go get tested to rule out
