Lateral nystagmus. : I assume both eyes moved. Usually, this is an acquired condition of the vestibular (balance) mechanism. An ENT specialist is best to evaluate it for you. If it doesn't occur again, it points to a one-time, unknown transient issue. If it reoccurs, see your ENT.
