Multiple: Procedures to surgically address cartilage damage can involve abrasion chondroplasty, in which the defect is debrided and drilled to initiate a vascular response in hope of growing new cartilage like tissue in the area; cartilage implantation in which cartilage can be harvested, grown in lab and rein planted in defect; ankle replacement, ankle fusion. Discuss with a specialist.
