Uric acid but more: How old are you? Which toe is it? Which joint in the toe? Gout can cause a chronic swollen toe but early it is episodic. More commonly would be osteoarthritis of the large toe at the bunion site. X- rays, lab tests including uric acid (not muric acid) along with the physicial examination and history will help to clarify the diagnosis.
