GERD acting up?: You note that the child is on ranitidine for gerd. He may be having a flare of his gerd so he closes his mouth to prevent the pain. Please check with his pediatrician for further assessment and treatment. He may need an change in dosage or reassessment of the condition.

Finger foods: Try offering some new foods like meat, turkey chicken, eggs, yogurt. Also offer him foods that he can finger feed himself with like cereal. Good luck.
