A member asked:

I've been taking 20mg of lexapro but my doctor is changing me to 50mg of zoloft. what is the easiest way to switch over?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can just switch: Many psychiatrists and others will taper one of the SSRIs down while increasing the dose of the other, in order to avoid the discontinuation syndrome and make sure that the other drug isn't producing more adverse drug reactions. However, I have simply switched people over without any significant problems. It can be done either way. Listen to your doctor and/or pharmacist for advice on this.
