A member asked:

I asked a question but the dr didn't seem to understand what i was asking ... can i use prevacid instead of nexium for gastritis flare up??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prevacid vs Nexium: In general, the answer is "yes." Both are Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs). Used sparingly, rather than long term, these PPIs are both effective for temporary relief of heartburn symptoms. It would be best to let your doctor know you are switching, if you decide to do so, so your medical record can be updated.
