Need to check: There are numerous reasons why people might have high liver enzymes. Everyone with elevated alt needs to be checked for hepatitis b and hepatitis c viruses. Other reasons include alcohol use, certain medications, and fatty liver. There are more rare causes like autoimmune diseases and genetic disorders. So follow up with your doctor.
