A member asked:

Which antibiotic would be best for a sinus infection? i have bactrim ds and amoxicillin 500mg

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neither: Actually, the most recent advice from the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is that antibiotics be restricted for simple sinusitis. There are some criteria to start antibiotics, such as symptoms greater than 10 days, high severity, etc. It's best however to have all this guided by a physician. You should be monitored while on therapy - I wouldn't just take what you have on the shelf.
