No time: If a post is being placed the nerve of the tooth will have been removed. Should not hurt at all. But no one knows you better than your Dentist. Please ask him/her.

No pain: A post is placed in a tooth following a root canal. There is no nerve in the tooth so,you should not have any pain from the post. If you are having pain you need to see a dentist. There may be a fracture in the tooth or failure of the root canal.
