Calcium hydroxylapat: this is a SUSPENSION of a semi solid material known as calcium hydroxylapatite. It is a similar component to normal bone. It is suspended in a soulution of saline andglycerin and carboxymethylcellulose. The suspension medium is water soluble, and eventually absorbs. The material does not. It is a long term deposition. If it develops an infection, it is difficult if not impossible to eradicate.
