Switch tacrolimus: Alopecia is a recognized side effect of tacrolimus (fk 506). If it is truly a new problem (started after tne transplant), there are 2 possible strategies. Sometimes using a zinc supplement helps. But the simplest + most effective approach is to ask your transplant team to switch the tacrolimus to cyclosporine, another very effective immunosuppressant. The team will usually agree. Good luck.
