Insect bites may be associated with an allergic reaction. Watch for signs of itching, rash and swelling. If the area is swollen more than two inches in diameter, please let your pediatrician know. If there are more severe symptoms such as wheezing, please see acute care. An application of a topical antihistamine and calamine lotion is often effective. Please follow up with your Pediatrician.
