How severe?: Serious peanut allergies can be fatal if not treated promptly with an epipen (epinephrine). No one can answer this question for you without knowing how severe your boyfriend's reaction is. For some people, the smallest contact with peanuts, peanut butter, or any other food containing peanuts can trigger immediate swelling and difficulty breathing. If this is the case, don't eat peanuts around him!
