What is the definition or description of: child diabetes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Child diabetes: usually is referring to type 1 diabetes mellitus which is most common in children and is a metabolic disorder where the pancrease fails to produce insulin which is required to metabolize glucose, so blood sugar rises, causing excess urination, excess thirst and ketosis from digestion of proteins. Children can get DM type 2 too, but is more often related to obesity and insulin resistance.
