Persistently high BS: Diabetes mellitus originally means sweet urine. It results from the inability of the body to properly process food we consume into sugar and control it. Medically is defined as persistently high blood sugar above 125mg/dl in the fasting state or above 200 randomly--this is how docs test your blood to diagnose diabetes. Stay well and have fun learning. Good luck.

Disorder of blood glucose levels: Presistent increased frequency of emptying bladder, urinating, as a symptom of a disease state. 2 types: Mellitus (high blood glucose) & Insipidus (inadequate anti-diuretic hormone). In Diabetes mellitus, the far more common, glucose concentrations are ↑ed due to combination of 8 organ system changes referred to as the "ominous octet" & aggravated by intake of sugars (simple & complex carbohydrates) which ↑es glucose.
