Type 2 Diabetes: In type 2 diabetes, your body either resists the effects of Insulin or doesn't produce enough Insulin to maintain a normal glucose level. This is more common in adults, but has increased in childhood with obesity. There's no cure for type 2 diabetes, but you can manage the condition by eating well, exercising and maintaining a healthy weight. Medications and even Insulin may be needed as well.

Insulin resistance: Type 2 diabetes is the body's inability to use Insulin properly, Insulin resistance, along with a relative Insulin deficiency in that the body loses the ability to produce enough Insulin to overcome this resistance.
