Yes: Absolutely. Type i diabetes usually has its onset in childhood, and we are seeing an increasing number of children developing type ii diabetes associated with obesity.

Yes: Type 1 diabetes can present in any child. One theory is that it has an infectious etiology. Type 2 can present in obese children and adults.
