Three years old son has a dry cough that is not going away with cough medicine store bought. what else can i do before seeing his doctor?

Skip that medicine: Most otc cough meds do not really help. Consider and allergy especially if child does not have a fever. Get air purifier and take to md to be sure not asthma like symptoms. Remove stuffed animals from bedding are, vacuume well. If cough persist, must see pediatrician.
