Spinal cord disorder: I trained in neurosurgery and am an author/researcher in spinal trauma. My experience with myelopathy and neuropathic pain is both personal and professional. I was jogging around a track one day and heard a pop in my neck. It was an acute disc rupture at C5-6 that compressed my cord causing a myelopathy as well as a C6 radiculopathy that triggered severe pain in my arm and hand requiring surgery.
