Yes -CT is very good: CT scans or 'CAT' scans are very good at imaging the abdomen and other parts of the body. Ideally, these studies are done with CONTRAST -both oral (swallowed chalk like substance) and IV- which really helps distinguish the structures in the abdomen/pelvis. Chronic appendicitis should be visible this way, although if no contrast is used it might not be as good. I would ask exactly how they tested u
