I have iih and really bad experiences with lumbar punctures, would requesting an x-ray guided lp be beneficial and a fair request?

Yes: If doctors have had difficulty performing an LP on you, than a fluoroscopy guided LP should be done. Beneficial and fair.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.

No real issue here: See absolutely no objection to doing your LP under fluoroscopy, which I have ordered on several of my own patients. It is easy, safe, and successful.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
