What is a mast cell in the nose. i have to get sinus surgery soon & doctor says have to open them up & have mast cell on right side. is that cancer?

Never heard of: Mast cells are present in many tissues and are the major source of mediators released in an allergic reactions. Thus it is not an unexpected finding especially in people with allergic rhinitis. I do not understand how the surgery is trying to accomplish. If your primary problem is allergic, see an allergist -surgery is intended for anatomical issues.
