Yes: The ER can provide you a Rx for pain medication. In the meanwhile, try ice pad or ice cube. An antibiotic may also help to slow down the infection and thus the pain as well.

Not the best choice: Unless the ER has a Dentist on call, they can only mask your symptoms, not treat you. Call your Dentist. Ask if you can be seen before Tuesday. If not, can they recommend an Endodontists or Oral Surgeon for you to see now.

See below: Find a dentist that has sooner availability for an emergency. Typically, the emergency room will only dispense medication unless there is a dental or oral surgery residency program and dentists are on staff. Part of being a provider is access to emergency care, find a new provider.
