A member asked:

Can trichomonas turn into hiv and/or aids if left untreated?

No: Trichomona (parasite) cannot turn into HIV (virus) or Aids. However, both are sexually transmitted so there is a risk to have contracted HIV during unprotected sex. HIV may cause aids.

Trichomonas and HIV: No. They are two entirely different infections. Trachoma as can be entirely a symptomatic or it can cause itching and a watery vaginal discharge. Your Gyn Provider can help you decide whether to treat it or not. Untreated trich can also infect your partner which is why many providers prefer to treat both partners. As for HIV, it is an entirely separate infection, but subject to risky behaviors.
