My tooth hurts and ive noticed a painful spot at the top of my gums, which i cant see. i used to dip. the pain is only on the gums and the tooth.

Examination: Haved the area examined by a local dentist to determine what could be causing the pain.

Pain: I can't see the "spot" on your gums either. May be tooth or gum involvement. Hx of tobacco use troubling as can cause cancer. Important that you see a Dentist or an Oral Surgeon immediately. Ignoring this will not make it go away. Seek diagnosis and treatment by a professional.

Tooth pain: This requires an examination and x-ray of the area to determine the cause of the pain and the appropriate treatment. I'm guessing a big cavity has affected the nerve of the tooth. Hopefully the tooth can be saved. The sooner you see a dentist the quicker you will be out of pain and the better the chance of saving the tooth.
