I have a dark red spot on my gums tight near the tooth. i haven't had any pain or been uncomfortable in anyway. i got up this morning, got ready and didn't even notice it when i brushed my teeth. i continued on and went to eat a crunchy snack and it hurt

See Your Dentist: Any red lesion or a dark red spot in the mouth that does not resolve itself in two-three weeks should be evaluated by your dentist.
