Yes!: While the official RDI of Vit D is only 600 iu/day, people need 5-8000 units of Vit D3 a day to attain optimal levels of 50-80. I advise 5,000 iu/day, though you could take 40,000 iu once a week if preferred. After a few months check levels and adjust dose. It's wise to also take Vit K.
