Entire sigmoid colon: The report you mentioned used standard language for a complete sigmoidoscopy. The report is telling the reader that the doctor used a sigmoidoscope to look at the colon from anus to rectum up to and including the proximal sigmoid colon. The evaluation stopped before reaching the bottom of the left descending colon.
