Had sigmoidoscopy endoscopist stopped procedure due to pain wasn't offered gas to cope to carry on .scope up to sigmoid.normal result. descending colon :not visualised splenic flexure not visualised. is 30cm into colon with scope enough for screening?

Inadequate: You may be clear up to 30 cms, but much of the colon is unscreened. If you can't tolerate a colonoscopy you could have a virtual colonoscopy or a barium enema with excellent bowel preparation. Of course, if lesions are seen they require colonoscopy or bowel surgery for removal. Discuss use of conscious sedation and possible fentanyl for the colonoscopy if it's proposed.
